Get Nude This Winter

Creating a nude lip may sound simple, but as we all have different lip and skin colours, not every nude shade in the shops are going to work for you? Let's look at my top tips on how to get the right shades, learn how to put on the perfect lip and my recommended lip shades

Let's take a quick look at lip care first.

Start with hydration. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water, even in the autumn. Heating and cold weather can play havoc with our skin. As we transition to a new season use Satin lips.  Satin Lips® Set sends your pout on a path to paradise for a spa-like treatment anytime, anywhere. Formulated with nourishing shea butter and the fresh flavour of white tea and citrus, these products leave dry, chapped lips behind, delivering moisturising bliss in two easy steps. Your oasis awaits.

  • Gently massage Shea Sugar Scrub onto lips for one minute and whisk away dryness.

  • Follow with the shea butter balm

Let's look at colour types. The 2 key things to look at are if a lip shade is lighter or darker and if you are  warmer or cooler. I’ve created 6 options for you to browse. Check the description under each image or contact me for a recommendation here.

Light, Soft and Warm... almost neutral tones. Add more warmth by swapping the gloss to fancy nancy lipgloss.

Each mood board shows you a lipstick, lip liner and gloss. All three products can be used together or individually to create with a matt, gloss or semi shine finish. Not only can you mix the products together, you can mix them up with your current lipsticks. Nock back a red or lift a nude with your favourite pink to create an endless colour option.

Light natural mary kay lipstick

Cool, Light and natural combination. Nude lipsticks are great under any colour lipstick in your collection.

Did you know, our makeup drawer is similar to our wardrobe. If you have a drawer full of makeup you don’t wear, often some of the colours are not your best match. Ask me to help prescribe the right shades of make up for you based on your hair skin and eye colours.

Cool and calm. This pretty look is slightly pink so perfect for really cool complextions.

APPLICTION

How to apply lipstick so it lasts all day… Disclaimer: most lipstick will come off when you eat greasy food especially. Often hard core lipstick which lasts will dry out your lips over time. Use this old school application method for long lasting lip colour and use high pigment products like Mary Kay.

Deep neutral tones with a slight cool tone. Perfect for darker skin.

1. Apply Mary Kay waterproof lip liner all over the lips. Define the lip shape with a liner, but also create a long lasting matt lipcolour alone with a pencil. Using a pencil all over, under your lipstick will help the lipstick last much longer.

2. Apply a thin layer of lipstick, blot and apply again. Thin layer will go on better and last longer.

3. Add body, lift a flat colour and create a fuller lip with gloss. Take your makeup from day tonight with a gloss.

4. Use lipcolour on your cheeks for a soft natural glow.

5. Add highlighter to your cupid's bow to create a fuller lip and sexy pout.
