HeritageChic - Inspired by Claudia
Whether you want to achieve the chic Claudia look inspired by this year's popular series, "Traitors," or if you are simply on the hunt to create a gorgeous layered ensemble for yourself, I’m here to delve into the high street fashion scene and uncover this iconic Heritage Chic trending style perfect for winter.
As a stylist whose passion is colour, I wanted to bring you inspiring looks from the high street where colour is key.
Claudia often wears greys with tartan and a dark neutral pallet. She is a bright and deep colour type. Contrast of light and dark work well on her and you often see her in deeper shades. But how can you get the Heritage Chic look as warm or light? Each mood board in this blog is designed with each dominant colour type in mind.
Let's start with lights and softs. Here we see gorgous creams, light greys and light blues. This gorgous fringed coat reminded me of her epic full length black fringed coat in season 2. Think about a softwhite pussy bow blouse and grey or taupe boots.
Tartan is key to a lot of Claudia's Traitor inspired Heritage chic looks. This cute skirt is perfect with a pair of black or grey tights. Pull together with a cable knit jumper and full length grey coat. This one from Holland Cooper is on the more expensive side however other versions are available in New Look or Primark. Look for a funnel neck coat or full length mac.
This look is perfect for cool and light colours and softs if you swap the white Holland Cooper top for a soft white.
Mixing two seasonal trends, Heritage Chic and Burgundy to create a stunning collection. If you have soft, deep colourings this is for you. I love the elegant boots from Joe Browns who have some fab heritage inspired pieces for a good price point. The river island tartan jumper is a more creative take on this chic look. A pussy bow blouse is key to many of Claudia's looks. You can also add a simple piece of ribbon to an plain shirt of you don’t want to spend a lot.
This skirt is to die for and reminds me of when Claudia walks into the dining room S.3 in a giant tiered big black skirt and baggy cable knit jumper. What an iconic look for the season.
Here I’ve used alot of blues perfect for deep and soft but also brights. The joe Browns skirt looks like a wardm blue but worn with navy will look good on most people. I love the double belt detail on the side of the Cider skirt.
Blue looks expensive and smart.
I’m warming things up now in browns if you are warm this is for you. Soft and lights can use much of this too. My favourite item here is definitely the corduroy leggings from M&S.
Too add that Traitors vibe, these personalised named kneclaces from M Elizabeth Jewellery are perfect. They remind me of the name cards at the round table.
Every heritage wardrobe needs key items.
Fair Isle Knit
Tank or knitted vest
Tartan
Mac or cape
Tweed blazer or coat
Pussy Bow blouse or shirt with ribbon tie
Fingerless glove
Wellies or stomping boots.
This last mood board is for all our kahki and olive fans. Soft and warm very natural and comfortable. We have seen Claudia wear a beanie but often leaves her traidmark hair on show. However I think a trilby suits the heritage look and lifts this more casual look .
After writing this blog I stuble across this segment from This Morning, Find out the cheaper highstreet versions of Claudias look on traitors and let me know if you have created that perfect Traitors inpired look recently. I’d love to see your examples in my private FB group Katie’s Style Hub. Join below if your not already there.
