How To Wear Pink like Barbie?

With Pink being one of this year's biggest colours and the Barbie movie fueling the hot pink fire it’s hard to avoid it when in the shops, on the beach or anywhere really. But is it a colour you love or loathe? How do you wear pink and stay on trend even if it’s not your best shade?

I’ve browsed some of the high street’s best highstreet shops to report back and share with you my favourite pieces.

Light - Rose Pink (Gwyneth Paltrow) Deep - Cassis (Aj Odudu) Warm - Coral Pink (Julia Roberts) Cool - Fuchsia (Aisling Bea) Bright - Cyclamen (Emma Willis) Smokey - Blush Pink (Amanda Holden)

Pink comes in many variations and is basically a variation of the colour red. We associate it these days with all things girly however pink used to be a very masculine shade a few hundred years ago. Soldiers wore red and little boys wore pink. It’s thanks to the invention of machines made clothes in the 50’s that we start to associate pink with girls and blue with boys. This is because it was far easier to pick one fabric colour and mass produce many clothes in the same fabrics.  So girls got light pink and boys got light blue.
Enough with history, let's start with your best shades.

Light - Rose Pink (Gwyneth Paltrow)

Deep - Cassis (Aj Odudu)

Warm - Coral Pink (Julia Roberts)

Cool  - Fuchsia (Aisling Bea)

Bright - Cyclamen (Emma Willis)

Smokey - Blush Pink (Amanda Holden)

Zara models wearing pink

Zara Barbie Outfits

It’s no surprise I'm starting with Zara. Of all the sites I searched they had the biggest Barbie campaign with even the models looking like a Barbie doll. All our dramatic and romantics will have already noticed I'm sure.

Zara models wearing pink 2023

May Favourite picks from Zara

Zara has a good range of shades from this warm coral pink denim dress and jacket to deep cool fuchsia kimonos and light pink wrap shirts. I’m in love with the oversized striped shirts, a key staple for the fashion forward women. These butterfly earrings are so pretty and a good size, and nothing screams ‘Barbie’ quite like this pink jelly heart bag. Another combine trend of hearts and jelly inspired accessorie.

M&S summer pink clothes 2023

My favourite picks from Marks & Spenser

M&S never fail to impress me. All my romantic, chic and classic ladies will love these pieces.

M&S has some fabulous shoes. Many of which have gone in the sale so get in quick or check out ‘Vinted’ for a bargain. At first I didn’t find as much as I was expecting online. But the seasons are changing and we are in the inbetween phase of summer and autumn.

I’m in love with these pink pointed slingbacks. If they are anything like the silver slingbacks I bought from M&S in spring then these will be great even from slim feet.

Pink clothes at Asda George 2023

My Favourite picks fro George at Asda

If you're not a fan of pink and better in warm shades like brown, orange and gold then this little pink and orange cami is a great way for you to wear pink. You could even team it up with pink jeggings and the majority of the top is warm.

I love this Cassis maxi dress. It looks more expensive. And for those who love to be on trend, pink metallic sliders are the end of summer ‘must have’.

My favourite piece here has to be the pink skirt. The side twisted fabric will draw the eye to the side and help cover the tummy area. Dress it up with heels or down with white pumps and a tee.

River island Pink Clothes 2023

My favourite picks from River Island

River Island seems a little more muted here. There is a gorgeous collection of chic, natural, dramatic and romantic pieces here. This is the second oversize pink striped shirt I found on my hunt. I love the more casual relaxed tee and knitted cardi. These would look great on the school run or off to the shops with white trainers and jeans.

The icey pink bag has to be my favourite piece with its purse and mirror attached. I also love the warm coral pink ruffle dress perfect for a light and warm colouring.

Pink clothes at Jaeger M&S 2023

My Favourite pieces at Jaeger

Last but not least I had to share these stunning looks at Jaeger for our classic, chic and natural ladies. I stumbled across the pink top and beige mac on the M&S website and had to explore more. There wasn’t a lot of pink and what they do have is muted and smokey but gorgeous and elegant I think you’ll agree.

If you struggle to find them online it’s because they have officially moved to M&S.
